Dr. Ibrahim Haddad serves as Head of Infotainment at Volvo Cars, where he leads the development of next-generation infotainment systems that enhance the driving experience through seamless connectivity, advanced user interfaces, and intelligent in-vehicle technologies. Prior to joining Volvo Cars, Dr. Haddad served as Vice President of Strategic Programs at the Linux Foundation, where he led LF AI & Data as its Executive Director. In this role, he worked with leading technology companies and open-source communities to foster a vendor-neutral platform for advancing open-source AI. Under his leadership, the foundation grew to 69 projects with over 100,000 active developers from 3,000+ organizations worldwide, providing a trusted hub for developers to build and scale AI-driven solutions.

As the founding Executive Director of the PyTorch Foundation, he collaborated with key industry players, including AMD, AWS, Google Cloud, Meta, Microsoft, and NVIDIA, to expand the PyTorch ecosystem. He oversaw all aspects of the foundation’s operations, including financial management, ecosystem growth, and community engagement, significantly increasing its adoption and industry impact within 18 months.

Before joining the Linux Foundation, he was Vice President of R&D and Founder & Head of the Open Source Division at Samsung Electronics in Silicon Valley. There, he developed Samsung’s open-source strategy, launched collaborative R&D initiatives, and played a key role in M&A and corporate VC efforts via SamsungNEXT. He also represented Samsung in numerous open-source foundations and industry consortia, driving partnerships and governance frameworks for large-scale collaborative projects.

Earlier in his career, Dr. Haddad held key technology and portfolio management roles at Ericsson Research, Open Source Development Labs, Motorola, Palm, and Hewlett-Packard. He has extensive experience scaling engineering teams across North America, Europe, and Asia, bridging technology and business to drive efficiency and competitive advantage.He holds a Ph.D. in Computer Science with Honors from Concordia University (Montréal, Canada) and is fluent in Arabic, English, and French.
